This preposterous and violent story was written when I was at
school. It is a good example of how not to write ...
Nevertheless it has a certain "period feel" for the Summer of
Love (and fun-violence on TV) - also note that if you were
under-21 in those days, you were a child!
It was illustrated in a weird semi-medieval style in ink on coloured
paper (someone at my Dad's work gave me the paper and I obviously found
a use for it!). I have put the images in this web version, as
they add to the
flavour of the work.
It was the First Book Wot I Wrote!
I hope you enjoy the story and apologise in advance for my writing
style, but I was only 14 when I started writing it in my school lunch
breaks (in the sunshine - we had summers in those days).

The Fight for Free Radio!
Remember - we have the Pirate Radio Stations of the 60's to thank for
the commercial radio of today, so take a moment to "take off your hat"
to these pioneers of the high seas.
Although the more famous stations, such as
Radio Caroline and Radio London, were ship-based, a few stations were
set up on the abandoned forts in the North Sea which were considered to
be outside the three-mile limit. The two I remember are Radio
City (a favourit of mine), which was the first station to be closed
down, owing to the fort suddenly being found to be in British waters,
and Radio 390, a sort of early Classic FM.
