THE
ULTIMATE HERO IS REAL!!
So many love Severus, the wonderful but flawed hero.
But he is not real but an imaginary
character, and sadly is fictionally depicted as dead.

But the ultimate hero is flawless, alive for ever, and longs for our
love.
He created the universe and is the ruler over all.
Being God’s Son he is the highest being and the centre of
the
universe, everything is his.
But when his creatures fell into ruin, evil and death, he did not
destroy them,
which he surely could, but descended from the highest height, into the
Virgin
Mary’s womb and was laid in the manger at Bethlehem, in order to
rescue
his
lost and damaged creation.
Mein hertzes Kindlein!
Mein leibstes Freundlein!
Ah Jesu!
Though the universe was his, he lived for thirty years in
obscurity, as a
carpenter in Nazareth, a town with a bad reputation, so that when
Nathanael was
told of him, he said, “Can anything good come out of
Nazareth?”
At around the age of thirty he was baptised by his cousin John in the
river
Jordan, thus identifying himself with humankind - baptism was a symbol
of
repentance – though he did not need to repent, being sinless.
For three and a half years he lived as a travelling preacher and healer. Many people loved and followed him, many
followed him for what they could get; the leaders of his country
despised and
hated him, and eventually he was taken and put to death.
He went willingly to die on the cross, a shameful form of execution. This extraordinary event, the creature
killing the creator, is the turning point of history.
For on the cross he bore the sin of humanity and the judgment it
deserved. He died our death.
As an infinite person, he could do this, as
a man, he could represent all humankind.
He was buried, but on the third day he was found alive again, with the
same body
and yet transformed. Forty days later
he returned to his Father and now sits at God’s right hand.
He will return in glory, at which time all that is wrong will be put
right and
justice will be done.
Eternal life in glory is his promise to all who believe in him.
Who could not love someone who died for love of them?
Who could not rejoice that he lives forever to love us and to
welcome us into his glory (should we wish to come)?
And remember, he is real!
